Kate was admitted to practice in 2003 and since that time has practised in the field of intellectual property and information technology.

Kate’s focus is on the commercialisation of intellectual property, and throughout her career she has been involved in the negotiation of complex commercial transactions. As part of her day to day practice, she prepares licensing, manufacturing, supply and distribution agreements.

Another key area of her practice revolves around advising clients, often on a daily basis, to ensure compliance with the Trade Practices Act. She currently works very closely with a major motor vehicle company and their advertising agencies to review and advise on all proposed advertising and marketing materials prior to release.

Kate also has extensive experience in the IT field in relation to the preparation and negotiation of various software licensing, development and support arrangements.

She has considerable practice in conducting and preparing terms and conditions for trade promotion lotteries.

Kate is currently undertaking her Masters in Intellectual Property Law. Outside of work Kate’s interests include jewellery making and other arts and crafts and she has a keen interest in music.
