Jennifer has practised in the field of intellectual property for over 17 years. She commenced her career as a research scientist after which she entered the patent attorney profession which provided her with a very solid background in the registration and prosecution of patents, designs and trade marks in Australia and internationally. After completing her law degree, she gained commercial and litigious intellectual property experience working in some of Australia’s largest law firms. Over the years, Jennifer has advised numerous Australian and overseas entities from a broad range of industries including engineering, chemical, food and beverage, publishing, dairy, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, cosmetics, education and agriculture. Jennifer has acted before the Federal Court of Australia in patent and trade mark infringement proceedings and in actions involving a breach of sections 52 or 53 of the Trade Practices Act. She has also acted before the Supreme Court of Victoria in relation to claims for misuse of confidential information, copyright infringement and breaches of patent and trade mark licences. Jennifer has also been involved in numerous IP/IT due diligences and in a politically significant matter, Jennifer acted for a Commonwealth department in relation to complex intellectual property issues arising out of the Collins Class Submarine Project. Jennifer is a Fellow of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia. Her out of work interests include wine appreciation, cooking, travel and entertaining.
