Chris has grown in the IP Industry, working in various positions and developing his skills in all areas of the practice. With his experience and knowledge, he has progressed into a professional role specializing in Trade Marks and IP management.
Chris provides advice to clients on trade mark protection and prosecution in Australia and Internationally. Chris also holds a focus on building client relationships and practical management of client portfolios.
Prior to employment with EKM, Chris worked in two large Melbourne IP firms in the area of both patents and trade marks. He was employed as a trade marks assistant to assist in local and international trade mark prosecution, trade mark oppositions, domain and business name disputes. He also had previous experience working as a patent assistant in the Life Sciences area which included assisting with patent applications and prosecution (local and international).
Chris is near to completing his qualifications at Monash University to become a Registered Trade Marks Attorney.
Also, Chris has been an active member of the YIPTA since 2012 and has contributed in organizing social/educational events together with writing articles for the IPTA newsletter. He believes that its important for the younger members of the IP profession to connect and hopes that YIPTA organised events assist in the development of younger attorneys.
In addition, Chris had experience at a Migration firm in the area of visa applications, preparing appeals to the Migration Review Tribunal, assisting with the preparation of witness statements, statutory declarations and legal research.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys being with family and friends, checking out a new restaurant/bar or going to one of Melbourne’s weekly festivals. You will also see Chris walking his dog Brutus or riding his Vespa after work hours.
